The "Parable" of the Roaches...

The “Parable of the Roaches”

(Heard at an Ultreya from a 4^th Day Witness)

I have been dealing with those brown German roaches for the last few months. One appears then shortly after, more follow. Suddenly, you are seeing clusters of them in certain areas, especially in the kitchen. I went to Home Depot and Walmart, and picked up some OTC products which I know are not as powerful as those of Professional Exterminators. For a month, I was applying these products everywhere I could see these vermin but of course, when you kill them in one area, they pop up in another. I kept finding new cracks and crevices they were coming from and escaping to as I would turn the light on at night. Finally, they had gotten so bad I decided to call the Pros. They came out and sprayed, and it seemed to be very effective. However, 20 days later and I am still killing these bugs with my own resources as they just won’t go away. I called Pest Control for a follow-up treatment hoping that this will cure the problem. In fact, the Exterminator said the first treatment was more of a general type mist for all kinds of insects. This second treatment would be more focused on eradicating these roaches from a home. Hopefully this will take care of business! But you know, we always have to be aware of any pests in our home, especially this type, because they may come back. I have a Pest Control Contract for a year, but it may be something that becomes a default bill for the house to keep these uninvited guests from entering my home...must be watchful going forward...

It seems that roaches are like sins; one appears then others follow. They start building up as more and more start arriving; they become clustered in certain areas of our daily lives, like so many venial sins. However, sometimes we rationalize them as something not hurting anyone. Others we may disregard as “me being me.” Time moves on, and it gets to the point where we are no longer living in the Grace of God. Those roaches, those venial sins may even lead to mortal sin, leading us away from God and removing us from the Grace of  God! But God  is MERCIFUL!!! We need an exterminator...a real

professional...WE NEED JESUS and the Sacrament of Reconciliation He gives us through His ONE, HOLY, CATHOLIC and APOSTOLIC CHURCH, with a priest who Christ is working through to forgive us of these sins. So we receive this wonderful gift; but life goes on and in our humanity we can sin again and again. Therefore, we must be watchful and become better exterminators of our sins, continually seeking the Grace of God in His Seven Sacraments of the Church. Also, prayer is important for us to continue to go to God for help in these matters as we would call our Pest Control Service for a specialized treatment of our home. It takes constant vigilance to live like Christ. Although we fail, we look to change how we live so it becomes a normal part of our existence, to keep these sins to a minimum and ultimately eradicate them from our lives.

WATCH OUT FOR THOSE ROACHES!!!

First Echo: When you turn on the light at night those roaches scatter...when the Light of Christ comes into your life, sins are exposed and forgiven...they are scattered and destroyed!

Second Echo: God is good...all the time...all the time...God is good! He always gives us a way to continually seek him and grow closer to him...through prayer and the many spiritual gifts he shares with us to bring us to Himself...He is always there to forgive us and help us to lead holier lives...He provides all we need!

Third Echo: As roaches are to sin, Jesus is to Light!
